Born in 1959 in Los Angeles county and currently living in Newhall, Douglas considers himself a self-taught photographer with a diverse talent of many subject matters. His passion for photography was ignited when he learned to develop film in his twenties. Douglas took this interest and let it bloom into the passion he has today. Although he has photographed all types of subjects, his current passion is photographing people in a variety of settings. From staged art pieces to capturing the life of street people, Douglas continues to explore the potential of his talent as he develops his unique style.
Douglas is currently the President of the Lancaster Photography Association (LPA), which is a non-profit 501(c)(3) group organized to promote education and the art and science of photography; and to provide education, information, inspiration and opportunity for all persons interested in photography; and to support philanthropic endeavors in the community through photography. He created and runs another educational photography group, the Antelope Valley Photographers Meetup Group (AVp) with over ~600 photographers. As well as, a Chairperson for the Photography exhibit at the Antelope Valley Fair, which accounts for about 1/4 of the Fair exhibits.
